Healthy Desserts: Is It Possible?

If you are like me (and thousands of others), your whole life stops at the mere mention of chocolate cake, key lime pie or chocolate chip cookie.

Yes, I love eating a delicious dessert from time to time, but that to maintain my weight loss of 14 kilos and still enjoy life in a healthy body is something I can not do regularly. (What a pain!)

So, I have come up with some strategies to help me curb my sweet tooth when it appears ... baked apples with cinnamon, sweetened with stevia herbal tea or fruit salad sprinkled with a little honey.

However, sometimes these choices do not help some people. They want a delicious slice of cake or a cookie or cake. Is there a way to eat them and still carrying a healthy diet?

I decided to do a little research and found some great ways to bake and create healthy and delicious desserts without all the sugar and flour that usually have most of them.

I was so excited to share these recipes with you today that I have not had a chance to try it myself (though, now you know what I'll be doing this weekend).

Try them and be sure to email me so we can compare notes. I will also ask my husband to give me your honest opinion about them (Poor, desserts will be testing all weekend, do not you feel sorry for him?)

Biscuits

sugar) ½ teaspoon Celtic sea salt ½ teaspoon vanilla ½ cup sifted organic coconut flour 1 cup chopped nuts (optional)

Instructions: In a saucepan over low heat, mix the butter with the cocoa powder. Remove from heat and let cool. In a bowl, mix eggs, stevia, salt and vanilla. Add cocoa mixture. Whisk coconut flour into the mixture until smooth. Add the walnuts. Pour into a greased baking pan or 20x20x5 28x18x5 cm. Bake at 175 ° C for 30 to 35 minutes.

Chocolate Cookies

Instructions: In a saucepan over low heat, melt butter and add the cocoa powder. Remove from heat and let cool. In a bowl, mix eggs, stevia, salt and vanilla, add the cocoa mixture. Whisk coconut flour into the mixture until smooth. Let the mixture sit for 4 to 5 minutes to give a chance to thicken slightly. Pour the mixture with a spoon into a greased cookie sheet. Bake at 175 ° C for 14 minutes. Makes about 16 cookies.

Strawberry Shortcake

These delicious Tart pans are made in panquecitos.Ingredientes: ¼ cup sifted coconut flour 3 tablespoons butter, melted 3 eggs 3 tablespoons honey ¼ teaspoon salt ¼ teaspoon Celtic sea of vanilla ¼ teaspoon baking powder

Directions: Mix butter, eggs, honey, salt and vanilla. Combine coconut flour with baking powder and add to mixture, beating until smooth. Pour into greased muffin tins. Bake at 205 ° C for 15 minutes. Serve covered with fresh strawberries and a little whipped cream. Makes 6 cakes.

Basic Whipped Cream Recipe (to give you a taste from time to time):

Ingredients: 480 ml heavy whipping cream 1 / 2 teaspoon vanilla extract 1 / 4 cup powdered sugar (or powdered, I will try using 1 / 8 cup of stevia for baking, but do not know if it will work fine) Instructions: 1. Mix liquid ingredients in a bowl. Add the icing sugar. 2. Beat the mixture with an electric mixer until peaks appear to maintain their shape. This should take you about four minutes (or more if you are using a whisk). 3. Serve over your dessert and enjoy!

Please remember that even though these desserts are much better than those sold in stores, you should eat in moderation. A piece or slice, once or twice a week is enough to satisfy your craving for something sweet and not stop continue to meet your goals of weight loss and health.
