Tips for online shopping

As the owner of an online store and a veteran online shopper, I have come to learn (sometimes the hard way) what you should consider when shopping at any online store.

* Website Security

How secure is the site? It's their site being scanned daily by a third-party service like McAfee Secure (formerly HackerSafe) to ensure the site is good and safe? These services will keep you safe from identity theft, credit card fraud and other scams. So you want to make sure you have a McAfee Secure or other valid third seal of protection of third parties on its website. Very important!

* Shipping

What are the shipping options your company provide? Are you able to choose shipping options based on the desired date of delivery and the cost? I'm a big fan of sites that allow me to choose a shipping option based on the delivery date (expressed vs. postal mail). Many sites also offer free shipping when you buy a certain amount - for example, Amazon.com offers free shipping on all orders over $ 39.

I would also like to know how fast you process orders. It 'a pet peeve of mine to order something a Monday, and then realize you still have not shipped the product to Friday ... which means I have to wait up to a week (or more) for delivery.
