Graduate - Marketing
A degree in marketing is probably one of the strangest degrees you're going to earn. Marketing is one of those things that takes quite some skill and yet does not really fit into any one category. You really have to be able to do some things very well. That is why the curriculum of a degree in marketing and 'very varied.
In order to obtain his degree in marketing you have to take your main marketing courses, which in most colleges are simply called marketing 1 through marketing 4. Each course usually lasts for two semesters. The marketing courses usually teach the principles of advertising. They'll walk you through the development of a product and then develop an advertising campaign for that product. This usually happens in four years, where you will also have to do research on an important document of a company with headquarters and how to market their products. The analysis becomes rather in depth.
But there's more to a marketing degree, not only taking marketing courses. As I said, many skills are required to be a good marketer. You must also be in possession of some pretty good writing skills. So, a marketing degree usually requires taking a lot 'of English related courses including creative writing. This is absolutely essential if you are going to be a good marketer.
Marketing also requires that a person has a business background as a pretty good marketing is a good part of the business. Thus, a marketing degree usually also require to take several core courses in business, such as economics and finance. You could also take some business management courses.
Since most students take 32 courses over the four years of college, one above occupies only a small part of the curriculum. You have to understand four marketing 8 marketing courses, business courses and 4 4 English courses. This still leaves the average marketing major with 16 courses left to take his four-year program. How do I fill in these?
Well, like most of the bachelor programs, there are a number of courses "elective" that you can take.
