How to get free support for your Nonprofit
Working in fundraising for profit small is very rewarding, but can also be a lot of work. With grant proposals to write, to plan events and to visit with donors, there is usually more work to get done what you have time to do. If you manage well and be creative, you can recruit free help to make life easier at work.
Before you start looking for help, it is important to get very clear about the tasks you want to help. The more you can define the job you want to help, the easier it is to find the right person to help. Take time to make a list of all the things that you feel comfortable giving to someone else. Also, think about when you want to help. It would be of two hours every Tuesday for help or you need an hour Monday afternoon? Also think about whether the work can be picked up and done at home or if you need the work done in the office.
Start your search for help, looking for a volunteer in your pool. You can just have someone with the right skills who can give you a couple of hours each week to help with fundraising activities.
Next, check with your local college or university for an intern to help. You could find a way of advertising or a student who would like the opportunity to write press releases for you in exchange for the ability to save a copy for their portfolio.
Finally, see if you can find some pro-bono help in your community. You can find a professional who would be willing to donate some time to provide a free service to your organization.
Be prepared to provide your help with training and support to help them succeed. You will be rewarded greatly for your investment ....
