Cry Of Independence
On August 10, 1809 Quito became the 'first cry of Spanish American independence. "Although today many historians believe there were other cries before or it was not very pro-independence, we highlight the fact that this happened 199 years ago and already we find very little time to celebrate the bicentennial of independence in Latin America (those of Argentina , Colombia and Mexico will be at 2.010).
The bicentennial will be an opportunity for states, towns and Latino diasporas talk about their unit and remember when they all fought together in international armies. Many argue that Latin America, unlike other continents, has never been the scene of any World War, which for more than a century knows no national fragmentation that is essentially one language (Spanish is very similar to Portuguese) .
These celebrations take a geopolitical axis then tried to accentuate the tendency of South and Central America going to be a block which is similar to the EU.
