The Best Restaurants In Madrid
If you've been in Madrid, will probably agree that the Plaza Mayor is the center of the city, and if you now know that is a must for all travelers and exceeds expectations due to the traditional architecture and the overwhelming tapas bars can be found here. I hope you know what they are tapas, but do not are small bites of traditional Spanish food usually eaten as a snack mid-morning, but found all day, every day, in every bar.
Not surprisingly, the restaurants and bars in this area are among the most expensive city, and should be avoided if traveling on a budget. But do not despair, because I know of three places nearby that you recommend, what makes culturally relevant meal and a one-of-a-kind dining experience Spanish.
Bar La Campana, 6 Button Street, next to the Plaza Mayor, is world famous for its squid sandwich (sub squid). I say famous because I learned that in Mexico, and sure enough you will get a € 2.3 of these submarines exquisite. Throw in a cold beer and have great food for under 4 euros.
If seafood is not your thing, Bar Restaurant 100 Main Street Motaditos in 22, we have something for you. The site has 100 different types of tapas at 1 euro each, usually consists of a slice of bread stuffed with ham as the typical Spanish sobrasada,, Manchego cheese, Spanish omelette and many many more. The ordering process is pretty funny as well: take a piece of paper from the table, make sure the caps you want and how any, and enter any name that is called when you are ready, waiting to hear anything and anyone who called aloud.
Restaurante La Catedral is the most expensive of the three, but also offers the best food in a restaurant decorated in traditional ways. Located in the Carrera de San Jerónimo 16, is a 5 minutes walk from the Plaza Mayor and it gets very busy during lunchtime. From Gran Via Madrid is within walking distance.
The menu includes € 9.5 two main courses of traditional Spanish food, water or wine and bread. Even if you are not planning on eating it worth dropping buy to check it out.
So there you go! If you're on a budget of these places will satisfy their food needs, while making it an interesting cultural experience. You can try one or all three, without leaving the center of Madrid!
