Parents of students with learning difficulties - to determine if your teen is ready for the University

There is a particular way of judging whether a student with learning disabilities is ready for college, but there are questions parents can discuss with their children to assess his / her availability.

1.How good is my academic background?
2.Are my standardized test scores adequate?
3.What are my strengths and weaknesses?
4.What types of tests do well?
5.Are my study skills and learning strategies appropriate?
The 6.Am disciplined enough to manage my time and meet deadlines academic?
7.Am I decided to succeed in school?
8.Do I have a positive attitude and I am flexible?
9.Do I have good problem-solving and decision-making skills?

Think about their answers. The answers do not sound like someone who is ready for college now?

Keep in mind that your teen does not have "all his ducks in a row," as the inventory may imply. The schools offer various levels of support, and there is a college out there for everyone. Perhaps one of the best indicators of availability is desire. How it hurts your son or daughter wants to be successful, and he or she is willing to link with to achieve success?

With the cost of college today, it is prudent to make absolutely certain that your teen does not see the university as a simple way to get out from under parental restrictions. Discuss the magnitude of this investment with your teen. It is probably second only to your home. Let your teen know that you are happy to invest if he or she is ready to take college seriously and really step up to the plate .......
