Celebrate The Feast of Mercy in Barcelona

If you do not have any plans for September, do not miss the Merce, patron saint of Barcelona. This event, which fires an explosive summer and welcome autumn, dates back to 1871 and takes place every year on 24 September. La Merced is a festival of festivals. The nearly 600 activities that take place over four days are divided into several sections: Barcelona Accio Musical: over 100 shows in a dozen venues in the city of Barcelona Street Arts: The Street Art Festival of the tradition: castellers, giants and big heads La Festa al Cel: an acrobatic air show, balloons, ultralight ... The Festa del Foc: Piromusical, Correfoc ... There is something for everyone: music, dance, exhibitions, educational activities, workshops, performances of all kinds, and religious ceremonies that give meaning to the celebrations.

The Correfoc, one of the most striking, is a cultural manifestation common among Mediterranean peoples in which a group of people dressed as demons race through the streets at night, dancing and jumping between fireworks. Thousands of people come to enjoy this pyrotechnic display fireworks and noise filled the streets of the Ciutat Vella, protecting himself with tissues that release sparks devils. Another popular demonstrations are castellers human towers that reach dizzying heights and whose summit rises a child. These towers require extensive coordination and preparation of equipment and are an amazing spectacle. To facilitate attendance at evening events, the metro will run all night during the last days of the festivities. If you enjoy one of the most popular festivals, LateRooms.com can recommend all types of hotels in Barcelona: for example, the Abba Rambla Hotel ***, with double rooms for 75 €, or hotel or Las Ramblas Rooms from € 65 per room.
